The Illinois House is approving federal spending on state programs. With no state budget currently in place, so called “Pass Through” legislation must be Okayed to let the federal dollars be spent. The bill has bipartisan support, which State Representative Patti Bellock says may be a good sign.
The measure was almost derailed when Democrats tried to include expenditure of state money in the plan. The Senate will need to concur and the Governor has indicated he will sign the bill into law.
