This was the wettest May thru July on record in Illinois. The state received about 19.7 inches of rain during the last three months, which is nearly 8 inches above normal says State Climatologist Jim Angel.
Angel says much of the rain came from a storm track parked above the state for the past three month, in addition to remnants of Hurricane Bill in June.
