(Milwaukee, WI) — Jaime Garcia fired seven scoreless innings to lead the Cardinals past the Brewers, 3-0, at Miller Park. Garcia gave up just two hits and struck out five to earn the win and Trevor Rosenthal picked up his 33rd save. Stephen Piscotty drove in a pair of runs and Matt Carpenter belted a solo homer in the victory. The Cards are an MLB-best 71-and-39 and hold a six-game lead over the Pirates for first in the NL Central. Wily Peralta gave up all three runs in seven innings of work to fall to 2-and-7. Milwaukee has dropped back-to-back games.
