(Springfield, IL) — Parents in Illinois will soon be able find out the mental health of their college age children. Governor Rauner signed a law yesterday that allows college students to give universities the permission to disclose mental health records to parents if a student is a danger to themselves or others. Students would fill out a form during enrollment to designate what information could be released. The law goes into effect January 1st.
