The City of Vandalia is now moving as fast as they can to try and find a solution for 3 downtown buildings after a building collapse early Tuesday morning. Vandalia Mayor Rick Gottman says their very first action was to get a court order to make sure no one can get into the buildings at this time.
A preliminary report from a structural engineer said the buildings are unsafe and need to come down. But, Mayor Gottman says they do need to get that full report before they completely know their next step.
The roof was found to be collapsed on 507 West Gallatin, causing damage to 507, 503 and 501 West Gallatin.
