(Springfield, IL) — The Rauner Administration is apparently making contingency plans in the event the state’s largest union goes on strike Friday. The “State Journal-Register” reports that retired state workers are getting calls from their old departments asking if they’d be willing to work. The Rauner Administration and leaders of AFSCME have been negotiating a new contract, but the extension agreed to by the union is about to expire. A spokeswoman for Rauner says the administration is pursuing all options.
