(Chicago, IL) — John Lackey tossed seven scoreless innings to lead the Cardinals to a 6-0 win over the Cubs in the first-of-four at Wrigley Field. Lackey scattered six hits and a walk while striking out four to improve to 7-and-5. Yadier Molina and Kolten Wong plated a run apiece in the seventh before St.Louis blew the game open with a four-run ninth. The Cards have won three straight.

(New York, NY) — Cardinals pitchers Michael Wacha and Trevor Rosenthal and catcher Yadier Molina have been named to the NL All-Star team. Outfielder Matt Holliday and shortstop Jhonny Peralta were voted in to start. Holliday is on the DL with a quad injury, but hopes to play.

(New York, NY) — Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant will represent the Cubs in next week’s All-Star Game in Cincinnati. Rizzo earned his second All-Star selection, while the rookie Bryant was selected by NL manager Bruce Bochy. Meanwhile, pitcher Jake Arrieta was not selected.
