(St.Louis, MO) — Lance Lynn and two relievers combined on a three-hitter as the Cardinals beat the Padres 3-1 at Busch Stadium. Lynn struck out eight while allowing just an unearned run in seven innings for the win. Kevin Siegrist notched his fourth save as St.Louis split the four-game set. Thomas Pham drove in all three runs with a homer and a double.

(Chicago, IL) — The Cardinals begin a eight-game road trip tonight that takes them up to the All-Star break. The Cards open a four-game series against the Cubs at Wrigley Field tonight. John Lackey puts his 6-and-5 mark up against Chicago’s Jon Lester, who is 4-and-6. First pitch is at 7 p.m. on ESPN. The Cards also play four at Pittsburgh on this trip.

(New York, NY) — Two Cardinals have been voted to start for the National League in next week’s All-Star Game. Outfielder Matt Holliday and shortstop Jhonny Peralta were selected by the fans. Holliday is currently on the disabled list with a quad injury but may return this week. Pitchers, reserves and the Final Vote candidates will be revealed tonight.
