(St. Louis, MO) — The Cardinals ended their season-long losing streak at four games with a 2-1 win over the Padres at Busch Stadium. Matt Carpenter singled in the tying run in the sixth inning, and Jhonny Peralta plated the winning run on a sac-fly. Thomas Pham scored both runs as St. Louis improved to 30-and-11 at Busch Stadium. Seth Maness earned the win in relief, and Trevor Rosenthal notched his 24th save. Yangervis Solarte went long for the Padres’ only score, and Brandon Maurer took the loss in relief. San Diego is 21-and-22 on the road and 39-and-44 overall.
