(Undated) — Last month keeps inching closer to producing the most rain in the history of Illinois. State climatologist Jim Angel says through Monday, the statewide average rainfall of nine-point-37 inches makes this June the second wettest overall month on record in the state. Only September of 1926 was a wetter month. Rain levels from yesterday still need to be calculated so there is still a chance June could reach the top spot.
